You can visit Europe’s only desert region which surrounds the village of Tabernas. The whole Costa has a distinctly African feel as it was taken by the Moors over one thousand years ago.

The city of Almeria itself has many picturesque plazas and as it is one of the oldest cities in Europe it has many sights of historical interest. Despite this most people tend to holiday in the nearby towns as they have a more built up resort-style feel.
