The fascinating capital; Nicosia
Located in the very centre of Cyprus and locally known as Lefkosia, this beautiful capital city stands as Europe's only remaining divided city; owned on one side by the Greeks and the other side by the Turks. The different influences are very much visible all around the fascinating city that is guarded by the fantastic Kyrenia Montain ranges and in particular the 'Pentadaktylos' or the 'five finger mountain', both of which are impressive sights. There are more than just cultural divides in the city, the old town is surrounded by beautiful, if not imposing city walls, whilst the modern metropolis sprawls out with urban architecture.
