Hedonistic holiday pleasure in Kavos
An ever growing town in the very southern point of Corfu, Kavos boasts the most action filled holidays that many will see in a life time. This town barely stops to take a breath from late May until early October when under 25's mostly hailing from Britain descend upon Kavos intent of having the time of their lives on their holidays. They are very rarely disappointed, Kavos is filled with 24h bars and clubs that run at extremely cheap prices. The clubs, bars and discos come in every style and variety here from traditional Greek Tavernas to British and Irish style pubs, serving English and Irish Breakfasts in the mornings, to ease the pain of the night before.
Kavos is definitely not for those seeking respite from the busy hustle and bustle of every day life, or for those seeking a truly Greek experience, however it contains the most intense nightlife in Corfu, and quite possibly in Europe. The beach in Kavos is fairly narrow, but is pleasant enough for sunbathing in the daytime and partying on of a night-time. If you wish to glean the best nightlife, yet still sleep afterwards and enjoy the views in the daytime. It i possible to stay in the nearby resort of Aghios Petros, which is just to the north, and offers some respite from the pumping music.
Staying on holiday in Kavos
There is a wonderful array of accommodation in Kavos, because of it's 18-30 style reputation, the market here caters mostly for young people with basic, low price range accommodation. Which suffices the crowds in the it is close to the centre of things and provides a bed for the night, in either holiday apartments or hotels. Many of these provide board or self-catering depending on your choice. The other option is to look a little further away from the main town and look at some of the more upmarket hotels to stay in whilst you are on holiday. Many of these are very pleasant, locally run and provide a very good service to those who wish to enjoy the nightlife in style and explore some of the rest of Corfu. Which, if one manages to see it in the daytime between clubs, is a very beautiful island.
Getting to your Kavos holiday
Flights to Kavos are into Corfu Airport which lies about 30 miles away. Flights are short at around three hours long and are well serviced by good cheap airlines, such as Easyjet. This is a very good destination for a cheap package holiday because it is aimed at young people so naturally cheaper. Direct flight run from most major UK airports, with a variety of airlines.
