Located in the North of Rhodes, only nine miles from the fascinating capital of Rhodes town Faliraki is most famous for its endless stretches of sunny, sandy beaches that so many holidays are based around each year. These stunning beaches provide thousands of tourists with a proliferation of water sports and beach activities from Parasailing to banana boating as well as options for bungee jumping and go carting. There is a wonderful array of nightlife to enjoy which many young tourists take great advantage of every year on their holidays. The media has hyped up the holiday trade in Faliraki to compare it with the likes of Ibiza and Magalluf which cater for the more 'hardcore' party groups. Faliraki simply combines good lively nightlife with an attractive daytime holiday destination. It is recently becoming more popular with slightly older holiday makers as the younger crowd have begun to move on, making the island still a good party spot, but slight more bearable for those that enjoy sleeping at night.
To occupy your time on you holiday, there are plenty of options, there are a few smaller shopping malls to buy local produce and souvenirs, along with may restaurants and tavernas. Many of these are run by local people and are very traditional; perfect for a traditional Grecian experience. There are several fairground type rides for adrenaline junkies, such as the slingshot ride amongst all the bars and clubs. Faliraki is also home to one of the biggest water parks in Greece, perfect to fill a day or even two! Visitors will definitely not be short of things to do during their holidays in Faliraki.
Boat trips are available to visit other bays around Faliraki, including Kathara Bay, which offers one of the most picturesque beaches on the island, and features a naturist’s beach at one end. There are also many other less developed beaches in the area between Faliraki and Lindos all with beautifully clean sands and crystal clear water.
Getting to Faliraki
Flights are to the nearest airport to Faliraki, which is Rhodes airport and last around five hours. It is very easy to fly direct to this airport as it is served by many airlines from the UK including Thomsonfly. Transfers tend to last around half an hour, depending on how you travel, this gives a wonderful opportunity to view some of the island at the start of your holidays.
