An Introduction to Ibiza
Ibiza is the third largest of the Balearic Islands, covering just 225 square miles though this is plenty of space for lively holidays. In recent times it has become the best known of these islands due to its huge popularity among young revellers and European package tourists, both seeking cheap holidays. This collective character provides the Ibiza with a chic and trendy atmosphere that is at its most colourful in the frenetic nightlife.

The Island's main town is the port of Ciudad de Ibiza (known as Eivissa to the locals) which is located in the south. It is the centre of the island's nightclub scene and features a lively marina, a quaint old quarter as well as some excellent restaurants. It lies close to the beautiful beaches of Figueretes, Es Cavallet and Ses Salines. San Antonio is the main resort town of the island with its high-rise hotels and popular nightclubs - Es Paradis and Eden. It also has some beautiful coves in the area with glorious beaches.
Flights, where popularity means simplicity
Low cost airlines such as easyJet fly slightly more frequently than charter flights with services such as British Airways. Thomson also have some direct flights between the UK and Ibiza's airport. 2 hours 30 minutes is a common flight time to cover the 875 miles between London and Ibiza. The airport on the island resides on the southern coast, in San José.
Just a few miles off Ibiza's shore is the peaceful 'satellite' island of Formentera . This relaxing haven can be reached by ferry and offers quiet stretches of beach even in the height of the summer season.
