Sousse Holidays – Relaxed atmosphere and great beaches

Loungers and parasoles on a sandy beach.

On their holidays in Sousse, tourists are encouraged to laze days away on the soft, golden sands, visit the local town and haggle to their hearts content over spices, local produce and souvenirs. Just two hours from Tunis, the mildness of its climate, its calm and beautiful coast and the hospitality of its people have long captivated those who have visited. The seaside resort area blends perfectly into this city where visitors on their Sousse holidays are encouraged to 'let their hair down’ and truly relax.

Last Minute Holidays in Sousse – Good quality hotels and busy promenade

A modern hotel in Sousse.

The area contains many locally owned hotels and self-catering apartments of varying standards and qualities. To add to this the area also boasts many international 'chain' hotels that are of the same standard as they are in the UK. It is widely known that this resort is predominantly for tourists, however the unique factor where Sousse is concerned is that it is also a favourite of the Tunisians as a get-away destination, and the friendly inhabitants enjoy mingling with visitors on the sandy beaches and busy promenade.

Holidays in Sousse offer plenty of people watching, with its pavement cafes and wide choice of competitively priced restaurants. The nightlife tends to rest on the entertainment provided by hotels and the famous casino. There is not much in the way of clubbing nightlife, making Sousse holidays much more popular with families. Those looking for nightlife are much more suited to Skanes holidays.

All Inclusive Cheap Holidays in Sousse – The oldest Medina in Tunisia

Spices on sale in a typical Tunisian market.

Sousse is still regarded as having probably the finest (though not the largest) old city (Medina) in comparison with the other Tunisian resorts. A warren of narrow covered alleyways nestling below the Ribat (fort) hide hundreds of colourful shops selling a myriad of local goods from carpets and porcelain to leather bags and olive oil. Outside the Medina there is also a vast modern shopping complex. Sousse holidays are not all just shopping and beach bathing, however. The town's museum, situated in the old castle or Kasbah, is renowned for its collection of mosaics, masks, statues and other relics of the Roman occupation. There are also several miles of well-preserved ancient Christian catacombs and marble tombs in the town. Cheap holidays in Sousse offer many package-tour visitors all the facilities and surroundings of a relaxing seaside holiday, overlaid with the undeniably foreign and exotic atmosphere of North Africa, all at extremely affordable prices.
