Foca Holidays 2012 – Protected region with stunning scenery
This resort of Western Turkey is historically and geographically divided into two towns – Yeni Foca and Eski Foca, both approximately 40 miles from Izmir. Both towns have shops, bars, restaurants, harbour and a sandy beach. Many parts of this region are under strict environmental protection, due to its valuable flora and fauna, and the beauty of the small bays and coves, especially between Foça and Yenifoça. Under the protection act, new constructions are not permitted in many parts of this district and therefore Foça preserves much of its unique character.
Last Minute Holidays in Foca – Fish restaurants offering fresh local daily catch
Holidays in Foca and Yeni Foca offer something for everyone. There are plentiful relaxing places to stay whilst on your Foca holidays and a wealth of places of historical and archaeological interest. Foca holidays are ideal for you and your family if you wish to escape the over-crowded resorts – the quaint harbour or the small pier which is dotted by the local fishermen catching fresh fish for the harbour side restaurants. These display their fresh catch on their daily menu. This normally includes sea bass, squid and many other local varieties. The harbour in Foca can moore up to 80 boats and there is currently a development project under way to build a large marina.
All Inclusive Cheap Holidays in Foca 2012 – Full of local character
Whilst on your cheap holidays in Foca, visit the small market near the beach offering souvenirs and local handicrafts. Yeni Foca also has a small shopping centre where you can purchase fresh locally produced fruits and vegetables. There is also a bakery where they sell typical Turkish pastry. The amenities in Yeni Foca include a few supermarkets, post office and internet access. The bus station is only a few minutes walk from the town. It offers a regular service to various places around Foca as well as regular services to Izmir. The coastal ride is very scenic and on a clear day you can catch a glimpse of the Greek Island of Lesvos.
