It is easy to fly direct to Mauritius with flights leaving frequently all year round from many UK airports. Flights last around eleven hours and are direct from some UK airports, with Virgin Atlantic among other carriers. Flights are long with smaller transfers at the end but travellers are rewarded with one of the most stunning destinations for holidays in the world
Things to see and do in Mauritius
A great deal of the attractions in Mauritius are natural sites, because this island is so beautiful many of those that visit on their holidays would see it as a waste not to indulge in the truly remarkable scenery and culture here. Throughout the country there are plenty of traditional restaurants, cafes and bars that are full of local life, perfect for sitting and watching the world go by during a lazy day of your holidays. The beaches are of course, something that should not be missed, they are truly impressive, a standard paradise among destinations for holidays. St. Louis, on the west is the most popular town with those on holidays as it offers an amazing showcase of the country's colonial history. Whereas the bulk of the country's population live around the island's other main town, Curepipe. The cuisine here is out of this world with fresh produce from all over the island blended together to make food as unique as the country.
