The Northern Territory can be summed up with a few experiences: the tropical city of Darwin, the majestic colours of Ayers Rock, and the barren hinterland of the Outback. Despite its size, the Northern Territory is sparsely populated, most centred on the coast and a few settlements around Uluru National Park. There is fun to be had however, and it doesn’t take long to find it.

Kakadu National Park sits outside Darwin and its home to fabulous natural landscapes as well as a centre for Aboriginal culture. Darwin itself is a hotbed for culture too, starting as a pioneer outpost and mingling with nature, the indigenous tribes and modern structures. Also check out Alice Springs, Kings Canyon and Tennant’s Creek.
