The most western of Canada’s prairie provinces, Alberta’s landscape comprises the Canadian Rocky Mountains in the west, wildlife filled hinterlands in the north, and southern plains, all of which filter into sprawling cities and valleys. Countless dinosaur fossils have been revealed in Alberta, making it an archaeological dream province; thousands flock with their tools to find a discovery of their own.

Edmonton is the provincial capital, home to the famous mall, theatres, nightlife and park. About 3 hours down the road lays Calgary and the main annual attraction of the Calgary Stampede, a festival dedicated to Canada’s ranching and cultural heritage. In the mountains are Jasper, Banff and Lake Louise, beautiful outdoor recreational activity centres situated around picturesque towns.
