Virtually surrounded by water and forested mountains, Vancouver’s position on Canada’s southwest coast gives it a mild climate; great for beach breaks as well as days out in the vibrant city. Off the coast are hundreds of small islands that have proven popular with sailors and yachtsmen, and one big island known as Vancouver Island, on which sits the British Columbian capital of Victoria.

It is famous for seafood delicacies but caters for all food types with many international restaurants and bars. By day, explore Vancouver’s acres of parkland and forests, climb the mountains and find some Canadian wildlife, and then by night, take in a show, hit Chinatown (the second biggest in North America), or find a nightclub.
