Despite being twice the size of Texas, unattached Alaska often goes unnoticed. If you take the time to explore though, you’ll notice how it is vastly different to its contiguous counterparts, with scenery unlike that found anywhere else in the USA. The sheer scale of the untouched wintery north can be beyond comprehension.

There is wildlife galore in these parts, inhabiting the tall mountains, glacial lakes, rugged shorelines, and large national parks. Look up at night and you’ll hopefully spot one of nature’s most amazing spectacles, the Aurora Borealis occurring in high frequency amongst the cold confines of the Arctic Circle. Just these reasons alone means a drive around Alaska is one of the best you will ever go on.
