  • Holidays in the Balearic Islands – Guaranteeing friendly people and gorgeous beaches

A couple enjoying themselves on the beach in the Balearic Islands.

The archipelago of four relatively small in area, but large in heart islands – Formentera, Ibiza, Majorca and Menorca, lies to the south-west of Spanish mainland. The excellent Mediterranean climate with year-round sunshine and the friendliness of the local people have made holidays in Balearic Islands one of the most favourite package holiday destinations in Europe. The mixture of stunningly green natural scenery complemented by dramatic coastline, soft sandy beaches with picturesque coves and the turquoise blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea promise an enjoyable holiday to suit almost anyone.

Balearic Islands – Mixing relaxation with party fun

A family walking on the beach in the Balearic island of Ibiza.

On Balearic Islands holidays, the northern beaches of Majorca around the resort of Alcudia, are predominantly favoured by families due to the shallow access to the sea and safe swimming. Whereas the south around its capital Palma de Mallorca has been a firm favourite with younger crowds for its rich cosmopolitan life offering fantastic beaches, shopping and restaurants. The resort of Magaluf, similarly to San Antonio in Ibiza, and their vibrant nightlife are some of the most frequently visited ‘party capitals’ of Europe. On the other hand, Menorca appeals to families with young children for its family-friendly accommodation facilities and shallow beaches with calm, crystal clear waters.

A lesser known gem – Formentera

    An idyllic lagoon in Formentera.

The beautiful island of Formentera is a quieter alternative to some of the more popular Balearics. There are endless accommodation options on offer throughout the island ranging from small self-catering units up to spa resorts with Michelin class food. If you are seeking a quieter Balearic Island holiday then Formentera is the place for you
